Apple iPhone Becomes No.1 Mobile Advertising Device In The World

By Ernest Doku

Another day, another record tumbles as AdMob announces the Apple iPhone as the number one mobile advertising device in the world.

AdMob is the world’s largest marketplace for mobile ads, and has recently experienced such a surge in traffic from the iPhone that it has overtaken the infamous Motorola RAZR with 37% of phone requests coming from users outside of the United States.

As AdMob began to launch ads on iPhone reformatted sites from July of this year, they immediately began to experience a spike in traffic. With around 400 sites and apps filled with AdMob marketing, they reached more than 4 million iPhones as of October, which is around a third of the entire ad spread.

With the iPhone taking over both the download and browsing sectors of the mobile web, advertising on there is a natural progression. However, to see such an immediate and drastic shift makes for interesting times, particularly with Google’s assault on mobile ads via Android to ramp up soon.

For now, however, iPhone is number one.
