By Ernest Doku

The European Brand Institute have collated the data for the 2008 EuroBrand awards, and Finnish telecomms behemoth Nokia have come in at number one, above names like BMW, Vodafone and Mercedes Benz.

Their value is estimated at 38.2 billion euros, an 18% improvement on last year. 38.2. Billion.

Number two? LVMH, the world’s largest luxury goods conglomerate consisting of bling brands like Louis Vuitton, DKNY, Tag Heuer, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Thomas Pink and Glenmorangie whisky.

Just goes to show that quantity and quality outweighs, well, everything else really. 1.14 billion handset sales in 2007 is no fluke…
