Don’t Go Home With Your Hop-On

By Kate Crowley

Fresh from their success at CTIA in Las Vegas, phone maker Hop-on Inc is bringing its disposable mobile phone concept to Europe. The phone has no LCD screen and can be thrown away or recycled after use. The phones use Texas Instrument chip sets and work on the 900/18000 MHz frequency. Hop-on Inc said on Thursday that a European distributor has bought 10,000 of these things for an initial rest run.

Perfect for children, the accident-prone and tin foil hat wearers who don’t want the government tracking their activities.

Back in the day, Hop-On produced a disposable mobile phone to tie in with the DVD release of Jurassic Park III. Here’s hoping their new design is more successful.
