Nokia E63 Announced - Here On Business Or Pleasure?

By Ernest Doku

Looking for a business phone, but the higher-ups won’t spring for a Nokia E71? Well, Nokia have announced the far more credit crunch friendly E63.

With a bargain price point of €200 (£165), the E63 offers a phone without the metal piping, GPS and HSDPA of the E71, but it does have a 2.3″ QVGA display, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support.

It also has a touch sensitive navigation pad and 3.5mm audio port, which the higher-end E71 lacked.

The 2 megapixel camera is perfectly adequate, and the cool colourways of aquamarine blue and ruby red lend the E63 the playful air of the BlackBerry Pearl range of handsets. Which is good, as that is exactly the market space this new Nokia aims to compete within.

It also has a ‘personal’ mode, which offers an entirely separate home screen, e-mail shortcuts and web site links with a single button press, meaning the E63 is equally as functional when you are off the clock.
