T-Mobile G1/Android Emulator Looks Nice, Shows Too Much?
The Googlephone charm offensive continues unabated, with a new T-Mobile G1 site springing up to illustrate just how revolutionary and impressive the new handset is…
The 360 view gives a funky rotate-y look at the handset, but free reign to look at the phone only points out a couple of funny things regarding design…
We’re still not sold on that keypad section being placed on a wonk, and that same portion of the phone may well become a real intrusion when using the keyboard…guess the proof will be in the fiddling come November.
The bit we are impressed about is the Android emulator, which is not as detailed as the SDK one, but shows of pretty much everything one would want to prematurely experience on the G1. Simulate incoming calls and texts, check out the dialer and typically T-Mobile ‘myFaves’ friend list (how magenta!), and be slightly impressed by the Mail and instant messaging integration!
The G1 seems a lot less casual and a lot more feature rich than we initially anticipated. All they need is someone to homebrew video camera functionality a la the iPhone, and this phone could actually turn heads! Will the notoriously camera-shy Google have to change tack to court consumers? Pundits say yes.
