Whhrl now on the Blackberry Peal and Curve

By Peter Ross

No my key board hasn’t stuck, Whrrl is the latest entrant into the wacky spelled web 2.0 application for mobiles. Think Twittr with restaurant reviews. Whhrl lets users follow their friends’ activity , reading about the places they went and what they recommended. It’s the acceptable face of stalking.

Only problem is, as its a beta version, not many of your friends will be using yet, unless you count Robby D whose activity is listed on the site. Also previously unless you had a N95, the Whrrl experience was limited to a text based experience. This has severely hampered growth, as users lose out on everything that make Whhrl a great concept, maps, interface, ease of use etc.

However this is set to change as Whhrl is now available on the Blackberry Pearl and Blackberry Curve, joining the N95, meaning the service will now be open to a lot more people. Expect it to come to a smartphone near especially as they just received a $5.6m cash injection by venture capitalists.
