How to Use Omio

Not sure how best to use the Omio shop? Here’s our guide to getting the most out of all the nifty little features.

General Pointers

• What are you most interested in: the phone or the deal? Omio defaults to the ‘Deals’ viewer but, if the phone is more important to you, click ‘phones’ as shown in the screenshot below.

  • Check out the bar on the right of Omio for useful features you can use as you browse the shop. For example, click ‘Add Phones’ in the ‘Compare phones’ box to view a side-by-side comparison of the phones you’re interested in.

  • Omio is 100% independent. We’re the free spirits of the mobile phone website world; we don’t owe allegiance to any retailer, network or manufacturer. This means you can be sure that the deal we suggest is the one that’s best suited to you, not the one someone else wants us to recommend.
  • Our crack squad of Omio editors have chosen their favourite handsets in a variety of categories, including slimmest, stylish and music phones. You’ll find our picks on the left of the homepage.

Deals

The deal finder is one of the snazziest features in the Omio shop.

Omio starts off on the ‘Pay Monthly’ deals filter. If you’re looking for a pay as you go or Phone Only (SIM-free) handset then use the tabs to make your selection.

The Omio shop uses a series of simple filters to help you find your perfect deal. Under each category (networks, brands, tariffs etc.) you can adjust sliders or tick boxes to let Omio know exactly what you want from your deal. Omio then displays your results below the filters. If you have more results than you’d like, try selecting more options. The lower the ‘Deals Compared’ number is, the closer you are to your perfect deal!

If you narrow your results down too much and don’t get enough or, even worse, get none at all then you can remove some of your selections from the tag cloud on the right.

Want to remove all your choices and start again? Simply click reset and we’ll wipe the slate clean!

Phones

If you know which handset you want then the brilliant Omio handset database will be right up your street. You can sort how the phones are displayed based on release date, size, talk time and camera megapixels.

You can also use the Omio filtering technology within each handset. Click the ‘Deal Comparison’ tab and filter your deal results by network, tariff or offer

.

If there are no deals available for a newly-released handset then you can sign up for email alerts to let you know when that phone is available.
