UK iPhone’s Sales Not Promising
I’m sure this information is not suprising, the UK iPhone sales have been less than promising for Apple and o2. Apparently Apple have been preventing o2 from releasing sales figures of the iPhone, i wonder why? I’m guessing Apple do not want their product to seem inferior with poor sales figures. Apple did not anticipate the UK’s lack of enthusiasm come launch date with practically empty stores and too many staff with no one to “help”.
The FT have released o2’s sales figures which includes predictions that they would sell 200,000 handsets in the first two months, which was not short of the reality of 190,000 handsets. I’m sure if the other UK networks put their figures together they may find that some of their customers are using the US unlocked handsets. Vodafone have over 8000 iPhone’s registered on their network and that number must be well over this by now.
All hopes of success point towards Apple’s plans for the updated 3G iPhone which, will hopefully address the current failings of the current 2G handset.
