Finally, refreshing that Blackberry Celeb site every 12 minutes has has paid off, and we have pics of Lindsay Lohan sporting the new Blackberry Bold way before release. She joins the ranks of glossy mag fillers Kate Hudson and self confessed musician/tech geek/supercar collector/fashion icon/ladykiller John Mayer to own the snazzy smartphone.

With the release of the hotly anticipated PDA delayed in the US by a week, this shot from the set of Lindsay’s new movie is one of the most interesting things that she has done in a long time. Looks like the Bold is becoming a genuine alternative to the iPhone 3G for the trashy socialite/attention seeking millionaire about town…

Also, there are plenty of pics of not-quite A listers schmoozing at the UK Blackberry Bold launch on Celebrity Blackberry Sightings, including Rachel Stevens (the fit one from S Club, remember?) and ad band du jour The Feeling. Still have some ways to go to match the American contingent of self important celebs, mind.

What is the allure of looking important by having a Blackberry, anyway? What kind of e-mails do movie stars and rock gods receive that are so important? It’s not as though they are accountants or investment bankers following what the Dow Jones closes at. Bet they just use it as a glorified notepad. ‘Read new script’, ‘oversee clothing line designs,’ ‘attend glam party’, ‘forget underwear,’ ‘cheat on spouse with new co-star’.

I’m not jealous.
